Objectives:

  • Recognize the important role nutrition plays as a contributing factor to the leading causes of death and disability
  • Define Food is Medicine (FiM) and how the elements of the FiM Pyramid address health needs for specific patient populations
  • Explain the benefits of consuming a plant predominant or high fiber diet to patients and develop a SMART goal
  • Identify at least one opportunity at the institutional, community, state or national level to advocate for increased Food is Medicine support
