SCMA Foundation

The SCMA Foundation holds several scholarships that are donated to students who attend one of South Carolina's four medical schools each year. These scholarship funds are held by medical specialties and families of physicians and pay upwards of $30,000 a year in scholarships. A list of scholarships is provided below.

If you would like more information on how to start a scholarship for medical students, please contact us at info@scmedical.org. If medical students have questions regarding scholarship submission details, please contact your financial aid office directly.

Application Process for Medical Students

  • All SCMA scholarship applications are sent to each of the four SC medical school financial aid offices in early- to mid-January to make them available to students.
  • Students must go through their financial aid office to access the scholarship applications.
  • Students will also submit completed applications through their financial aid office.
  • After the deadline, all four financial aid offices send completed applications to the SCMA for the review and selection process.
